New York is a worldwide recognized city that continues to hold its position as the world's leading financial hub and serves as a global diplomatic hub with a remarkable Gross City Product. With more Fortune 500 firms than any other city, New York's economy has a very strong financial and technical services structure that is globally competitive. The Wall Street financial area, which is home to the two biggest stock exchanges in the world (NYSE and NASDAQ), and the "Silicon Alley" tech environment, which dominates the global Fintech and Artificial Intelligence (AI) markets, are the city's main strengths. In the new era, driven by the initiatives of the New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC), the city is rapidly transforming into a knowledge-based hub by pioneering green investments, advanced healthcare, mobilizing private capital flows, and creating eco-friendly smart supply chains.

In the areas of economics, finance, urban management, science, and technology, the two regions' collaborative accomplishments over the past few years have shown to be extremely significant and progressive. Large-scale investment promotion programs and direct high-level delegation exchanges have reinforced the bilateral commerce corridor since the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding on establishing sister-city connections. Investment funds and capital flows from US firms continue to play a crucial role in Ho Chi Minh City on a national level. Recent real-world initiatives have consistently marked significant turning points, such as collaborative research projects, experience-sharing in managing significant financial centers, the efficient use of tariff levers to assist enterprises, and the vigorous encouragement of investments in upcoming digital industrial infrastructure.
In order to draw in direct investment and establish strategic partnerships with partners from New York City in five crucial areas, Ho Chi Minh City is growing its networks of partnerships, especially in light of the city's recently expanded sustainable development space:
1. Finance, Trade, and International Financial Center Development: Attracting major investment funds, multinational banks, and financial conglomerates from Wall Street to collaborate on implementing the Ho Chi Minh City International Financial Center Project, and robustly developing the financial technology (fintech) sector.
2. High-Tech Industry, Semiconductors, and Artificial Intelligence (AI): Promoting joint research and the transfer of core technologies from the Silicon Alley ecosystem into semiconductor microchip design chains, smart manufacturing, and advanced AI solutions.
3. Advanced Healthcare and Life Sciences: Collaborating to expand laboratory capacities, transferring biomedical solutions, training high-quality human resources, and developing advanced healthcare and high-tech nursing complexes based on the LifeSci NYC model.
4. Smart Cities and Mega Mixed-Use Infrastructure: Transferring digital urban governance solutions, as well as operational and restructuring strategies for smart infrastructure and compact green urban areas, drawing from the successful models of world-class mega-projects like Hudson Yards.
5. Logistics, Smart Seaports, and Circular Economy: Optimizing international smart supply chains, exchanging modern port management solutions, developing renewable energy networks, and implementing green investment incentive policies toward Net-Zero growth.
