SGGP newspaper interviewed Mr. Huynh Thanh Khiet (pictured) , Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction, about solutions to boost the supply of social housing.
* Mr. HUYNH THANH KHIET: According to the social housing development targets assigned by the Government , the city must complete 181,257 units in the 2026-2030 period (10 times higher than the 2021-2025 period). Specifically in 2026, the city has been assigned a target of completing 28,500 social housing units.
To date, one social housing project with 580 units has been completed and put into use; 10 projects have commenced construction with 11,362 units; and currently, there are 22 projects under construction with approximately 19,878 units, reaching 69.7% of the target.
