On September 24, the Friendship Dialogue Conference, chaired by the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, took place in Ho Chi Minh City.
The event was attended by Nguyen Van Nen, Member of the Politburo and Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee; Phan Van Mai, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee; Nguyen Minh Hang, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs; along with more than 35 delegations of leaders from international localities that maintain friendly and cooperative relations with Ho Chi Minh City.
Ho Chi Minh City selected the theme for this year's dialogue conference as "Industrial Transformation: Development Experience and Cooperation Priorities." This topic arises from an essential and urgent requirement for both the city and the global community.
Following the discussions, Chairman Phan Van Mai passed the Chairman’s Statement of the 2024 Mayors' Conference. The statement highlighted the awareness of the necessity of industrial transformation, recognizing that localities are crucial components of the international community that must transform to ensure sustainable development, and understanding that international cooperation is vital to maximizing benefits and minimizing the limitations of this process.
