The Kansai Bureau of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI-Kansai) is a regional arm of Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, responsible for industrial development policy, international trade, and investment promotion in the Kansai economic engine. Under the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for strategic cooperation with Ho Chi Minh City, METI-Kansai serves as a core conduit aligning both business communities, particularly facilitating investments from Japanese small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) into the City. The bureau actively partners with Ho Chi Minh City to advance supporting industry supply chains, accelerate Green Transformation (GX) and Digital Transformation (DX), transfer high technologies, and optimize smart logistics infrastructure.
