Ho Chi Minh City and Cambodia strengthen cooperation in economics, healthcare, and education.

On August 17th, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, Nguyen Van Duoc, received Mr. Luon Bunvadh, the new Consul General of Cambodia in Ho Chi Minh City.

GD&TĐ - Ho Chi Minh City requires improvements in the quality of schools, teaching staff, and the educational environment; striving to organize two-session-per-day teaching by the 2027-2028 school year. 

Determined to improve the quality of schools and classrooms. Speaking at the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training's conference summarizing the 2025-2026 school year and outlining tasks for the 2026-2027 school year on August 21st, Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, assessed that the past school year took place in a special context as the city implemented the rearrangement and merger of administrative units, organizational structures, and the operation of a new government system. In this context, the Department of Education and Training maintained stable operations, ensured learning opportunities for the people, maintained the results of universal education , eradicated illiteracy, developed inclusive education, and continued to improve the quality of education. Ho Chi Minh City implements a model where hospitals work in conjunction with health centers.

On August 24th, Associate Professor, Doctor Tang Chi Thuong, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health, stated that the health sector will not allow any commune or ward health station to operate in isolation, but will place each station within a unified professional network, directly linked to the city's hospitals.
